Woman accused of snatching 89yo’s handbag

An Endeavour Hills woman has been arrested and charged by police over an alleged theft from an 89-year-old woman in Dandenong Plaza toilets.

The victim’s bag was allegedly snatched from her walking frame as she washed her hands on 12 July.

The 42-year-old accused also allegedly robbed a woman of her handbag in Newton Lane, Dandenong on 9 July.

She was also charged over the stealing of food from a freezer during a home burglary in Dianthus Court, Narre Warren South on 18 July.

Greater Dandenong CIU police arrested her during a raid of a home in Kennington Park Drive, Endeavour Hills on 10 August.

She was charged with robbery, theft, burglary, obtaining property by deception and drug trafficking.

The woman is remanded in custody to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 24 August.
