KEYSBOROUGH Bowls Club celebrated its 50th anniversary with the opening of a new synthetic green on Friday night.
City of Greater Dandenong mayor Jim Memeti formalised the opening of the green, which will ensure club members quality year-round bowling conditions. The new green has been named ‘Paperbark’ as a nod to the council ward and councillors who have supported the club.
The synthetic surface will also pave the way for the club to host young bowlers, with club stalwart Ray Johnstone co-ordinating a primary school program that will introduce hundreds of local kids to the sport.
For more information about the schools’ program, call the club on 9798 2097 or email: keysboroughbowls@westnet.com.au.
