THE Dandenong Library will come alive with the sights, sounds and tastes of Africa next month.
As part of the ‘All things African’ celebration, which runs between 8 and 12 November, the library will feature music, colour, food and African culture.
Visitors will be treated to performances from dancers from southern Sudan, including the Acholi Women’s Group, who will perform on Monday 8 November at 10.30am. The Nuba Mountains Cultural Society will perform on the same day at 6.30pm.
Super Mande percussion will also hold a drumming class and exhibition on 9 November at 5pm.
People will have the chance to play on a drum and discover the world of African rhythm with King Marong on Wednesday 10 November at 7pm.
Somalian author and cook Mariam Issa will delight with fantastic cuisine from eastern Africa, as well as providing information about culture, traditions and weddings on 11 November for an hour from 7pm.
