Gala night for Noble awards

A GALA dinner dance was held in Noble Park last month to celebrate the town’s 101st birthday and hand out community awards.
More than 200 people attended the event on Saturday 16 October, which including food, entertainment and an awards ceremony.
The Noble Park centenary history book was also released on the night.
The book includes articles from Noble Park’s history including the original families who established the suburb, the schools and churches, last year’s centenary celebrations, community groups and service organisations and sporting clubs.
Lyndhurst MP Tim Holding and Greater Dandenong councillors Roz Blades and Peter Brown also attended.
Mr Holding presented the Noble Park Community Participation Awards to the recipients.
The Foundation Award was presented to Olive O’Donoghue, the Sporting Achievement Award to Cathy Green and the Community Award to Yvonne Smith.
A team from the Noble Park Guides was awarded the Youth Services Award and Daryl Pitman won the Cultural and Service Award.
Noble Park RSL president and member of the organising committee Gordon Murray said the night was enjoyed by all.
“It was a great night which was well received by everyone who attended,” he said.
“We hope to continue the event into the future.”
