Man critical after street assault

A man is fighting for life after being attacked by a group of men on Hammond Road Dandenong.

Police were told that the victim was assaulted just after 3.30pm on Wednesday 29 January.

The man in his thirties was taken to Dandenong Hospital with serious upper-body injuries, an Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said.

Police have described the injuries as life-threatening.

No arrests have yet been made in what police say is an ongoing investigation.
