AS THE weather warms up, paramedics are warning parents against locking kids in cars, after five incidents in one day.
Paramedics were called to five children who were accidentally locked in cars last Thursday, including one in Springvale.
Two of the children were left in cars outside childcare centres.
Paramedic team manager Pete McKenzie said all the children were okay and were released quickly.
“It highlights just how easily it can happen as people rush to get into the car and get on their way,” he said.
“It’s a good idea to hold onto keys as you are getting into or out of the car.”
“Obviously in the warmer weather the risk is significantly greater, especially in younger children.”
