TWO Noble Park teams are climbing a stairway – to the top of Melbourne’s tallest building.
Menora Foods has entered Scared of Heights One and Two in the Eureka Climb, on 18 November.
The race to the top of the Eureka Tower is set to attract 2500 competitors and raises money for Whitelion and Interplast Australia and New Zealand.
Menora Foods’ Glenn Crombie said his eight-person crew was training hard before tackling the 88-floor trek – that’s 1642 stairs.
“We have been hard at work training at the ‘1000 Steps’ at the foot of the Dandenongs each Tuesday and Thursday evening,” he said.
“We’re all about promoting health and safety around the workplace as much as possible.”
He said the group had previously participated in a triathlon together, and saw this as an opportunity to do something for their own health while supporting charities.
Interplast is a not-for-profit organisation working to improve the lives of people in neighbouring developing countries who are disabled through congenital or acquired medical conditions.
It sends Australian and New Zealand volunteer plastic and reconstructive surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses and allied health professionals to the Asia Pacific region to provide free surgical treatment for patients who would otherwise be unable to afford it.
Whitelion opens doors to opportunities, relationships and community for young people involved in the Youth Justice System or at risk of involvement.
