NOBLE PARK continued its march towards the finals with a 75-point victory against Ringwood in Eastern Football League Division One action on Saturday.
The Bulls’ victory was spearheaded by Benn Logan, who had his best game of the season, racking up countless possessions and kicking five majors.
Noble Park was challenged early in the wet conditions, but the game proved to be a percentage-booster as the team went on to easily account for the bottom-of-the-ladder side.
The Redbacks came out fighting in the opening term, outscoring the Bulls two goals to one to take a five-point lead into the first change.
But the away side managed to steady in the second term, kicking five majors while restricting Ringwood to a single goal.
The Bulls led by 24 points at the main break, but should have been further in front after scoring a wasteful 6.14 in the first half.
Noble Park ran away with the game in the second half, adding another eight goals to its tally, while Ringwood could only manage to snag one.
Andrew Wardell took best-on-ground honours for the home side.
Noble Park coach Shane Burgmann said he was happy with how his team slogged out the match.
“The conditions made our blokes work harder, which was a good thing,” he said
“Rain can even out the contest, but Ringwood is a young side so it probably favoured our more-experienced bodies.”
Burgmann said he was looking forward to taking on East Ringwood, which has only dropped one game this season, this week.
“It’s a good test for us to see where we’re at,” he said.
“We’ve got to be able to beat the sides above us to show that we’re worthy of making the finals.”
The Bulls sit fourth on the table after 11 rounds, but will have to keep playing at their best to ensure a top-five finish with games against Blackburn, Vermont and Balwyn in the coming weeks.
