Cabinet set to visit

GREATER Dandenong council directors are remaining tight-lipped on the issues they will raise before the State Government’s Community Cabinet day next month.
In a briefing before local media last week, several directors, including CEO Carl Wulff, refused to divulge the matters to be raised by directors as potential Community Cabinet talking points. The Community Cabinet program scheduled for April will be run by the State Government.
The entire Cabinet will tour Greater Dandenong and hold a meeting in the city at a place yet to be determined.
The date has been set as Wednesday, 26 April, with Major Projects Minister John Lenders hinting that Dandenong and its revitalisation would be a key focus for Cabinet’s discussions.
The Cabinet will meet with the council in the morning before exploring the city and speaking with residents and community groups who have made prior submissions to chat with the Ministers.
Greater Dandenong corporate affairs director Ross Hepburn said the council would “want to talk about the major issues affecting Greater Dandenong” but did not elaborate, other than to say discussions were likely to include local infrastructure and public transport.
