Hotel books racing space

DANDENONG’S Ramada Encore hotel will be a regular feature of Victorian V8 Supercar rounds after striking a $50,000 sponsorship deal with the Fujitsu Racing-Britek Motorsport team.
The deal was announced last Friday at a Christmas celebration at the hotel.
Britek owner and V8 Supercar driver Jason Bright was on hand to announce the partnership, along with Ramada Encore’s general manager, Ed Davis.
The sponsorship will be ongoing and in 2007 will include advertising of the hotel on race apparel and logo exposure on the V8 Supercar itself.
Other exposure includes logos on the team’s transport truck, marketing and promotional material and the ability to promote Hot Laps with Jason Bright as a competition prize.
The Ramada Encore will make its V8 Supercar debut this weekend at the Phillip Island leg of the V8 Supercars – the final leg of the season and one of the most anticipated of the year as it will decide the overall champion.
One happy race fan who will be there is Dandenong businessman Greg Dixon from Surdex Steel who won the very first Ramada Encore-sponsored Hot Lap with Jason Bright.
This weekend Mr Dixon will cruise around Phillip Island alongside Mr Bright.
“I have been burning to do this all my life,” he said, still shaking with excitement. “I follow the V8 Supercars everywhere.”
