It’s time to pick up safety tips

OCTOBER is Community Safety Month in Greater Dandenong.
Residents can learn about simple safety tips by taking part in a series of events organised by the City of Greater Dandenong council in conjunction with local emergency services.
City of Greater Dandenong mayor Youhorn Chea said that the council would work with police, emergency services and community groups to help make individuals safer.
“We all need to play a part in keeping our neighbourhoods safe. I strongly encourage residents to get behind Community Safety Month and participate in local activities,” he said.
Major activities and workshops for 2007 include Fit to Drive road safety education for young people of culturally diverse backgrounds; a child injury prevention seminar for dads at Bunnings Dandenong and the Multicultural Prime Timer’s Police Band Concert.
