Children were reported to have been playing on the equipment at the time.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Gladstone Road and Menzies Avenue, Dandenong North, about 7.45pm on Wednesday, 18 January.
One car lost control following the collision and crashed through the fence and into the playground of the Lyndale Primary School.
