THE ROTARY Club of Dandenong is helping residents to prevent bowel cancer by teaming up with local pharmacies to offer a bowel scan kit.
The free kit can be collected from today (24 April) at Terry White Chemist in Dandenong Plaza and must be returned by 30 May. The kit includes a test that can identify whether or not you have the precursors to bowel cancer.
Dandenong branch president Alan Collier said residents needed to understand that bowel cancer was one of the most common caners.
“This is a great opportunity to take part in a very easy test which has the potential to save lives, and can be easily conducted in the privacy of their own home,” he said.
In Australia, over 11,000 people each year are affected by bowel cancer.
Once you complete the test, return it to the pharmacy by 30 May.
For more information contact Alan Collier on 0418 355 607.
