IT WAS Hawaii minus the white sand beaches in Noble Park this week as the Red Gum Day Club celebrated its second birthday.
Members first formed the day club in May 2006 and since then have enjoyed a host of social activities and an affordable lunch at the Noble Park RSL every Tuesday. The Red Gum Club was established to prevent social isolation among the community’s elderly and lonely residents – and at this week’s second birthday celebrations the atmosphere was indeed social.
Members dressed up in a Hawaiian theme and kicked back with cocktails and conversation as they said ‘aloha’ to Star photographer Luke Plummer.
