Volunteers’ hard work rewarded

NOBLE Park volunteers who aided a Red Cross fundraiser in March have been recognised for their efforts.
Members of the Aus Audio Visual Arts Association in Noble Park, who are in the process of creating a movie, helped rattle tins on 1 March this year as part of a Red Cross fundraiser in the City of Greater Dandenong.
Association spokesman Vajira Ekanayake said Emma Morgen, a fundraising officer from the Red Cross, as well as Greater Dandenong councillor Jim Memeti, presented the group with certificates of appreciation for their efforts that helped raise more than $1400 for the Red Cross.
Association president Dinesh Weerakody welcomed the guests, while secretary Channa Wickremasekera gave a thank you speech to the Red Cross.
Mr Ekanayake said the association’s members would continue to support the Red Cross by giving blood in July at Monash University in Clayton.
Anyone who wishes to help the association with their volunteer community work can call Mr Ekanayake on 0401 178 436.
