ANY hope of success in Division Two for the Parkmore Pirates was quashed with a 246-point hiding from Dingley at Souter Oval on Saturday.
The Dingoes have firmed as Southern Football League division premiership favourite after booting 39 goals to the Pirates’ one in a thumping that made Geelong’s 157-point belting of Richmond at the Telstra Dome on Sunday look tame.
Playing coach Adam Quinn booted 13 goals to take his season return to 23 from two games.
Andrew Frost also made short work of the hapless Parkmore backline, kicking seven.
Tony and Bret Lavars each kicked five.
One shining light for the Pirates was the performance of defender Dean Anderson, who troubled Quinn for the first half of the match.
By half-time the Dingoes were 122 points in front, and the massacre continued until the final siren.
For Dingley, the start of the season in a new competition could not have begun any better.
For Parkmore, the question is where to now?
This Saturday Dingley clashes with Lyndale at Souter Oval, while Parkmore hosts Hampton at Wachter Reserve.
