COOMOORA Secondary College’s talented badminton players have cemented a place in this week’s Victorian State Championships.
Three teams will head to the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre tomorrow (Friday), and each team will play against seven others in their respective divisions as they hit it out for shuttlecock glory.
The senior girls team of Mindy Ho, Vicky Lai, Philyn Tan, Kim Houy Chheang, Linda Seng and Phuong Lei Muk is Coomoora’s most successful to date, having won several Southern Zone competitions and placing third at last year’s State Championship.
Joining the girls this year is the senior boys team of Hou Vann, Chanthan Chhay, Dennis Wong and Meng Ngo, as well as a junior boys team fielded from Coomoora’s year seven students.
