A DANDENONG policewoman was injured by a man wielding a large tree branch on Saturday night.
She received a blow to the head while attempting to make the arrest at the Dandenong Train Station late that evening.
About 10pm transit police approached the man who was walking around the foyer of the station with the large branch.The 49-year-old constable was taken to the Dandenong Hospital with bruising to the back of her head.
Precautionary scans were conducted and she was released at around 4am on Sunday.
A 21-year-old from Doveton has been charged with assaulting police (serious) and other assault related charges and remanded to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning.
