Organised by the Dandenong Retail Traders Association, the awards are open to all retailers in Central Dandenong, whether they are members of the association or not.
Association chairman Roy Aspinall encouraged all retailers to seriously consider entering one or more of the categories available.
“These are an innovative range of awards that recognise excellence among the retailers in Central Dandenong,” Mr Aspinall said.
The awards fall into five categories: more than 10 employees, fewer than 10 employees, innovation (website, marketing, layout of store, etc.), store design and representing a culture.
The sixth award is the Central Dandenong Retailer of the Year to be decided by the judging panel and the winner will be an automatic entry in the Greater Dandenong Chamber of Commerce Premier Regional Business Awards.
“This is a wonderful award and a great opportunity for the winner,” Mr Aspinall said.
The winners will be announced at the Dandenong Retail Traders Association Annual General Meeting and Business Awards Dinner to be held at the Dandenong Club, Heatherton Road, Dandenong, on Tuesday 25 November, from 6.30pm.
Guest speaker at the dinner will be Ken Grenda, who will present “The Grenda Story”.
