Knife used in robbery

By Melissa Meehan
POLICE are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in Dandenong late last week.
Around 2am on Friday, a Dandenong man in his 20s was using a payphone near the corner of Thomas Street and Walker Street when he was approached by a group of four men.
He had parked his car adjacent to the public phone.
One of the men produced a large knife and demanded the victim hand over the keys to the car and his wallet, police said.
The man complied and the offenders left the scene in the white 1990 Mitsubishi Magna sedan.
During the incident the man received a minor scratch, as a result of light contact with the knife.
Police believe all four of the men were drunk at the time of the incident. The stolen car was last seen being driven erratically on Kidds Road in Dandenong, heading toward Doveton.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the car to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au.
