COMMUTERS faced more delays after a week of train cancellations on the Cranbourne line due to the heat, following a Dandenong level crossing collision on Thursday morning.
At about 7.40am a car failed to stop at the boom gates at the McKinnon Road level crossing and collided with a train.
Connex spokeswoman Lanie Harris said no-one was injured and passengers were evacuated from the train.
“Police arrived at the scene, and services in both directions were halted until 8.15am,” Ms Harris said.
“There are three tracks on that section of line, so trains were able to continue running using the centre and the outbound line.
“In total, as a result of the collision, there were a number services cancelled and one service that did not get to its final destination.”
