Show reflects a journey of life

By Bridget Cook
ACCLAIMED performer Ian Stenlake will be starring alongside his wife, Rachel Beck, in their show You And I coming to Dandenong’s Drum Theatre this month.
The show, to be staged on Friday 20 February and Saturday 21 February, is described as one of love, life and new adventures that follows a journey of love and romance, with its ups and downs, and the happiness at the end.
It consists of the couple’s favourite musical numbers and “is a celebration of music, essentially from our careers”, according to Stenlake.
Both actors are accomplished performers in musical theatre and television.
Stenlake stars in Channel 9’s Sea Patrol and is known for his leading roles in musicals such as Guys And Dolls and Oklahoma.
Beck has performed for three seasons on the Channel 7’s It Takes Two and has appeared for many years in musicals such as Beauty And The Beast, The Sound Of Music and Singin’ In The Rain.
For this show they will take audiences on a journey through a combination of favourite musical numbers they have done over many years of performing.
The first act reflects the beginning of their relationship, how they got together and where it has taken them. The show then follows their journey and is a celebration of their love. “It’s been fantastic working with Rachel,” says Stenlake. “I love listening to her sing, especially.”
The show incorporates many well-known songs such as Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, You Raise Me Up and Time After Time.
