Merger is best result, says RSL

DANDENONG RSL sub-branch members will vote later this month whether to amalgamate with the struggling Cranbourne RSL sub-branch.
This month members were advised that over the past four to five years the Cranbourne RSL has been experiencing some financial issues and Anzac House asked Dandenong to meet with their committee to discuss any possible outcomes that might be of assistance.
It was agreed that the best possible result could be achieved by both sub-branches amalgamating and using their combined financial strength to redevelop the Cranbourne site, remove their current debt and offer their current and future members the best facilities available.
It was also agreed that the RSL must maintain a presence within the Cranbourne region as it is one of the fastest growing residential areas in Australia.
Both sub-branches will vote on Sunday 29 March and if successful will be known as Dandenong Cranbourne RSL Sub-branch and will be one of the biggest in the state.
