SANDRA George was inducted into the Greater Dandenong Regional Business Awards Hall of Fame on Tuesday night.
Recognised as a community leader, Ms George has helped to reshape employment and training in Greater Dandenong. Many programs have been adopted all over Victoria.
She pioneered a regional Women in Business Network in the late 1990s, chaired the Greater Dandenong Community Safety Committee, and Dandenong Westernport Regional Youth Committee.
Ms George has also found time to get involved in successful charity and community events. She is also a Life Governor of the Dandenong and District Hospital and a life member of a local little athletics club.
Accepting the award, Ms George described Greater Dandenong as “special”.
“I hope Dandenong continues to survive and thrive in the future,” she said.
