Vinnies open 100th store

ST VINCENT de Paul Victoria will open its 100th Vinnies Centre on Wednesday 1 April, at 119-123 Lonsdale Street, Dandenong.
Opening celebrations will kick off at 9am and feature in-store entertainment, a barbecue, fairy floss, face-painting, clowns and special guests, all in the name of helping fellow Victorians in need.
Vinnies state centres manager Tony Thornton said the Dandenong centre would continue Vinnies’ proud history of helping Victorians in need through material assistance, support and friendship.
“We’re thrilled to open our 100th Vinnies Centre in Victoria,” he said.
“With more Vinnies Centres open than ever before, we’re increasing our commitment and ability to help Victorians in need.”
Vinnies Centres not only provide quality recycled clothing to the public looking for value, retro clothing and everyday items, but offers assistance to those who are in need.
As an added benefit, Vinnies customers know that their purchases help to support their community through the St Vincent de Paul Society’s good works.
The new Vinnies Centre in Dandenong has a huge floor space of more than 700 square metres, giving shoppers plenty of range to choose from, and is open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm.
“Come down and have a look at all your Dandenong Vinnies Centre has to offer – you’ll be surprised at what you can find,” Mr Thornton said.
Vinnies Centres help the St Vincent de Paul Society to support and assist more than 660,000 Victorians in need each year.
