UNEMPLOYMENT in Greater Dandenong is on the rise with new figures showing a 3.2 per cent increase between January and February.
New figures released by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations show the increase in unemployment of Dandenong residents.
Inga Peulich, Liberal MP for South Eastern Metropolitan Region, said the increase in the number of unemployed would be a great concern for many individuals and families in Greater Dandenong. “Greater Dandenong residents can not do (anything) or go anywhere without being bombarded with millions of dollars worth of taxpayer-funded advertising telling us how good the government is,” she said. “But at the same time these residents are facing a personal economic crisis and some are losing their jobs.”
