A DANDENONG man has had his car impounded and will face traffic charges after he was intercepted street racing in Clayton on Saturday night.
Police from the Monash Traffic Management Unit spotted two vehicles as they raced along the Princes Highway between Wellington Road and Blackburn Road.
Police said the cars reached a speed of 170 km/h in an 80km/h zone before they were pulled over without incident. Another man, from Airport West also had his car impounded.
The cars were impounded for 48 hours and both drivers will be summonsed to appear at court at a later date in relation to traffic offences.
