DANDENONG bankers were left shak-en from a bomb scare in Lonsdale Street on Monday.
Detective Jenny Van Dord said the police bomb squad was called to the National Australia Bank (NAB) branch when a staff member noticed a suspicious suitcase in the building.
She said staff and customers were evacuated at 3.20pm and the area was cordoned off for five hours while the bomb squad moved in. “It was found that it was not suspicious at all,” she said.
A spokeswoman for NAB said she could confirm there was a “security scare” at the Dandenong branch, but it was “business as usual on Tuesday”.
