GREATER Dandenong Council phone controversy continues with mayor Pinar Yesil paying an additional $1180.15 of the $3448.65 bill she incurred while overseas on leave from council.
This is in addition to the $1699.42 she has already paid for phone costs incurred during three separate trips to Turkey last year.
Cr Yesil said after researching international roaming costs she felt it was important to cover those costs.
Cr Yesil said despite being away, her phone had been diverted and a number of the calls had been to and from her constituents.
She has since written to CEO John Bennie requesting he put in place a policy with respect to international roaming usage by councillors and staff.
Wrong number, mayor Yesil
