EASTERNATS fans have revved up their campaign to keep the event at its Sandown home, with more than 1500 fans turning out to sign a petition on Friday night.
The wave of support has continued to grow over the past few weeks following the Melbourne Racing Club’s decision to axe the event for reasons they would not disclose.
Last Friday night a gathering was held at the Keysborough Bunnings carpark for fans to show their support and sign the petition.
The petition, with more than 1500 signatures, was handed over to event organiser Jon Davison this week to help back his fight to save the event he has promoted successfully for the past 13 years.
