A MOBILE phone and a large amount of cash was stolen from a 29-year-old man in Dandenong last week.
The incident occurred between 3am and 3.30am on 5 November.
Police said a 29-year-old man was walking alone down stairs that connect JB HI-FI and Coles car parks in Cleeland Street. When he reached the bottom of the stairs, a group of four or five men pushed the 29-year-old from behind, causing him to land face down on the concrete.
Police said two of the men held the victim down as another stole his Nokia mobile phone and his wallet, which contained $450 cash.
The victim was then kicked in the stomach before the group ran north on Cleeland Street.
Police said the victim did not receive any injuries and was unsure of the ethnic appearance of the offenders.
