Panthers play for position

DANDENONG Panthers will play a one-day match against Geelong at the Geelong Oval this weekend after their two-day game was called off due to the wild storms that hit Victoria last Friday.
The second-placed Panthers will be looking to secure a finals berth with a win against the Cats who are third. Last week, Panthers skipper Darren Dempsey said he expected an even contest this round.
The Panthers will be hoping to turn around their recent woeful short game form and will be aiming to grab the four points this week. In a log jam at the top of the Premier Cricket ladder, only eight points separate second and ninth.
Meanwhile in Sub-District cricket, Noble Park has three sides that are in the hunt for finals with three rounds remaining. Their first XI will take on Box Hill this week at Pat Wright Snr Oval and will need to keep winning with only six points separating third and seventh. With the top two spots firmly locked away, Noble Park will be looking to wrap up third place for finals.
