CRIME Stoppers is currently targeting organised retail theft and has released images of three men they believe will be able to assist them with an incident in Keysborough.
Organised retail theft involves individuals or groups shoplifting large quantities of goods in order to resell them and make money.
A variety of goods may be stolen such as high-end fashion and luxury products, hardware, electrical goods, cosmetics, stationery and even groceries.
Police estimate that it costs Victorian businesses tens of millions of dollars every year.
They say the figure would be much higher if all incidents were reported.
In a bid to crack down on the offence Crime Stoppers has released information on a number of incidents.
It is now seeking public assistance to help catch those involved.
Police said between 18 March and 29 June a group of at least four men stole large quantities of vitamins and/or antihistamines from a number of Chemist Warehouse stores in Keysborough, as well as Forest Hill, Frankston and the Preston area.
Police have released images of three of the men whom they believe may be able to assist in their inquiries.
Police are promoting the slogan ‘if you see something, say something’.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
