DANDENONG Theatre Company will celebrate musicals from the company’s past, present and future when it performs its upcoming production.
Rewind Fast Forward is a tribute musical which will showcase the well-known songs from the company’s past shows and those to possibly feature in its future productions.
The audience will be treated to a night of singing and dancing from experienced performers and upcoming talent.
The show was written, directed and choreographed by Gulcan Gulen, who wanted to create the show as a tribute to the Dandenong Theatre Company for inspiring her from a young age to follow her dreams and talent.
Ms Gulen has a wealth of experience. She trained for 15 years doing callisthenics with Sharborough Callisthenics, has trained in jazz, ballet and contemporary and was the assistant principal at Confi Dance. She is also studying dance at Box Hill TAFE.
Her experience in musical theatre spans across more than 10 years. She is currently under vocal coaching at Drew Downing Performing Arts and studying musical theatre at Elevations.
Her past choreography gigs include Cabaret for the Dandenong Theatre Company and The Wiz and Grease at Hallam Secondary College.
She was nominated for a Lyrebird Award for best choreography in a musical theatre work for her work on Cabaret.
Ms Gulen has been supported by Trent Brockman as music director. Mr Brockman is the head of performing arts at Fountain Gate Secondary College and is an award-winning director, having taken out musical director of the year at the Lyrebird Awards.
The Dandenong Theatre Company is holding a trivia night on Friday 4 March at the Watcher Hall Community Reserve, Bloomfield Road, Keysborough.
The night will showcase a performance from the cast of Rewind Fast Forward to give people a taster.
