Cash above par

CORPORATE golfers teed off for charity and raised money well over par at Villa Maria’s third-annual Charity Golf Day.
The event raised $70 000 for the organisation that assists people with disabilities as well as their families and carers.
The money raised will go towards upgrading facilities such as bathrooms, living and play areas at some of the charity’s children’s respite houses.
Villa Maria Chief Executive, Valerie Lyons said respite was important for children with a disability and their families.
“Regular respite is a vital means to ensuring families can stay together and give parents much needed time to re-energise and focus attention on other members of their family.”
Despite poor weather, more than 100 golfers took part at the event on October 24 at Southern Golf Club in Keysborough.
Close to 40 companies, including platinum sponsor Epicor, provided sponsorship and support for the event that was won by players from the company 2Connect.
