Consult with us

OUR valuable Green Wedges have been steadily eroded over the years and any further reductions need to be given proper scrutiny both by our local councillors and also residents who, with their busy lives, need adequate time to consider them.
Thus the recent council motion hastily presented and narrowly passed, with no community consultation, to recommend to the Planning Minister 3.4 square kilometres of Green Wedge land in Bangholme area bounded by Eumemmerring Creek; Frankston – Dandenong Road; Eastlink and Harwood Road, Bangholme be considered a Green Wedge anomaly is of great concern, both to those who value the retaining of green wedges, surrounding farmers and also the aged residents of Willow Lodge Village, which is contained within this land.
If this land is upheld as a Green Wedge anomaly it may be zoned as industrial which may effect the quality of life of the Willow Lodge residents.
The council should withdraw this submission and a comprehensive planning scheme amendment process should be undertaken enabling proper consultation with the community before progressing this proposal any further.
