Thousands welcome Lunar New Year

MORE than 60,000 people celebrated the Lunar New Year in Springvale on 10 February.
It was the Springvale festival’s 21st birthday and several councillors congratulated organisers Springvale Asian Business Association (SABA) at their 11 February council meeting.
Councillor Roz Blades said many attendees had also been present at the first event, and urged mayor Angela Long to write SABA a letter of congratulations.
Cr Long agreed to formally congratulate the organisers and volunteers.
