Scan for bowel health

DANDENONG Rotary is teaming with Dandenong pharmacies to fight bowel cancer.
This month it’s offering easy-to-use kits to detect the disease for $10 from Terry White Chemists in Dandenong Plaza, Dandenong Central Pharmacy on the corner of Walker and Langhorne streets, and Chemist Warehouse at 265 Lonsdale Street.
“It has helped four people in the Dandenong area who have suffered bowel cancer,” Rotarian Trevor Harding said.
One person will die from bowel cancer every two hours, but 90 per cent of cases could be cured if detected early.
Mr Harding said it was among the most common cancers and over 40s should have a Bowelscan test every year.
The tests are to be returned by 31 May. Call Mr Harding on 0409 797 730 for more information.
