GREATER Dandenong council is keeping its residents happy, according to this year’s Community Satisfaction Survey.
The Department of Planning and Community Development review saw the city rank higher than the state average and the Outer Melbourne Metro group in several categories.
Greater Dandenong mayor Angela Long said the council would focus on areas where respondents indicated the need for some improvement – public safety, waste management and the general appearance of public areas.
Greater Dandenong ranked 10 points higher than the state average of 53 for overall council direction, and seven points higher than the Outer Melbourne Metro group average of 56.
Advocacy, customer service, community consultation and overall performance were other areas Greater Dandenong exceeded the state and Outer Melbourne Metro averages.
The Outer Melbourne Metro group includes Greater Dandenong, Cardinia, Casey, Brimbank, Frankston, Knox, Manningham, Melton, Mornington Peninsula and Whittlesea.
