EMERGE Festival attracted a full house to Dandenong’s Drum Theatre late last month.
The free Multicultural Arts Victoria event on 20 July was the culmination of a month of celebrations across Melbourne and featured performances from Greater Dandenong residents from all corners of the globe.
The festival aims to empower and create connections for artists and communities from refugee backgrounds.
City of Greater Dandenong councillor Matthew Kirwan said the event was now in its fourth year.
“It was a fantastic showcase of the artistic talents of refugees and new migrants,” he said.
