A SCIENTIST, a besotted lab assistant and a manufactured ‘perfect’ woman are all in a day’s work for Carwatha College students.
For five weeks, 20 students from Years 7 to 12 at the Noble Park North school have been participating in WotOpera, designed to unlock creative potential.
They’ve written a 20-minute opera, including the music, and built and painted sets for a performance.
Their story is about a scientist named Dr Felix, who is working for a dictator.
Dr Felix builds himself the perfect women with the help of his kind assistant, Aria, unaware that Aria has feelings for him.
Is his perfect woman, Amythest, as perfect as he thinks? Will he ever discover Aria’s feelings for him?
Audiences will have to check out the performance to find out.
Carwatha will take to the stage along with students from Nossal High School, Albert Park High School and Mac.Robertson Girls’ High School.
WotOpera will be on stage at the Drum Theatre, corner Lonsdale and Walker streets, Dandenong, from 7pm on Tuesday 16 September.
Tickets are $5 for children and $10 per adult. Visit www.drumtheatre.com.au for more information or to book.
