Driver stable after garbage truck tips

By CAM LUCADOU-WELLS

A DRIVER in his fifties has been hospitalised after the garbage truck he was driving overturned in Keysborough this morning.
The truck clipped a centre median strip while travelling west on Lower Dandenong Road about 4.30am.
A police spokeswoman said the driver appeared to over-correct, swerving across the west-bound lanes and coming to rest on its side on the road’s shoulder.
She said heavy haulage was required to remove the truck.
The driver was taken by ambulance to The Alfred hospital in a stable condition, an Ambulance Victoria spokesman said.
