Teen flees after car chase

By CASEY NEILL

A TEEN is on the run following a pursuit in Dandenong that ended with a police car being rammed.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Sergeant Glen Cruse said a stolen car was involved in a hit-run with another vehicle in Langhorne Street about 12.45am on Sunday 19 April.
Police located the car travelling in Gerard Street a short time later and tried to intercept it but the driver refused to stop.
Sgt Cruse alleged the thieves drove into a police vehicle in Cooma Court and fled on foot.
The police air wing and dog squad assisted during the pursuit and helped to locate two boys near the scene.
Police charged the 15-year-old and 16-year-old, both from Dandenong North, with theft of a motor vehicle, conduct endangering life, leaving the scene of an accident and other related offences.
They were bailed to appear at Dandenong Children’s Court at a later date.
Police are still searching for a third teen, described as of African appearance. Call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 with any information.
