POLICE have released an image of a man wanted over an alleged sexual assault in Springvale in late January.
A woman was allegedly assaulted by a man passing in the opposite direction as she crossed Springvale Road near Springvale railway station on 24 January just before 7pm.
She and an accompanying man turned around and confronted the alleged offender, who walked away.
The offender is believed to have caught a taxi from Lightwood Road to Clayton South.
He is described as Pacific Islander in appearance, in his 30s with black, curly shoulder-length hair.
He was wearing a grey zip-up hoodie, dark shorts and possibly a checked flannelette shirt.
The man was barefoot at the time.
