Chisholm Institute automotive students are restoring a car to raise money for scholarships.
ACM Parts donated the Toyota Corolla, which the Dandenong-based students will repair and restore using ACM’s recycled and certified parts.
The finished vehicle will go under the hammer later this year.
ACM Parts CEO Mike Kirkman said the project would help to secure the future of the best and brightest in the automotive sector.
“ACM Parts has a responsibility as one of the largest car parts supplier in Australia to make sure the automotive industry has a steady supply of leaders in mechanical and collision repair,” he said.
“Education and hands-on experience are the crux of any career and we are thrilled to be able to support the future of Chisholm’s automotive students with scholarships funded through this donation.”
Chisholm executive director Andrew Kong said the project was an excellent example of what a strong partnership with industry could achieve.
“Not only will our students have the opportunity to further enhance their automotive mechanical repair skills through the project, they will also be contributing to the raising of scholarship funds to support disadvantaged students looking to establish a career in the automotive mechanical and paint and panel industries,” he said.
“We are extremely fortunate to be able to work with ACM Parts and look forward to our relationship continuing well into the future.”
