An incident on EastLink at the Police Road overpass has closed all northbound lanes.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said a man had been taken to hospital in a critical condition and officers remained at the scene.
VicRoads said all northbound lanes were closed at Princes Highway and there was no access northbound from the Monash Freeway.
Southbound traffic was slow, VicRoads advised, but there were no lane closures.
VicRoads advised motorists to use Springvale Road as an alternative route.
