Safety boosts for south east

Keysborough, Noble Park, Dandenong, Doveton and Endeavour Hills will share more than $40,000 for safety boosts.
YMCA Victoria will receive $9004 to install lighting along the footpath at Springers Leisure Centre in Keysborough through the latest round of Community Safety Fund (CSF) grants program.
The project is designed to enhance safety, reduce anti-social behaviour in the carpark and deter theft of and from vehicles.
The Moodemere Scout Group will receive $8100 to install security doors, lighting, a double gate and an alarm system at the Moodemere Scout Hall in Noble Park.
In Endeavour Hills, City of Casey will receive $10,000 for solar lighting at the Haverstock Hill Close reserve to prevent vandalism and drug use, and increase perceptions of safety.
The Casey council will use $5376 to install lighting in Kidds Road Reserve, Doveton, and Greater Dandenong Council will receive $9503 to install security lighting in Hemmings Park, Dandenong.
The CSF grants support council and not-for-profit group projects to prevent crime and help people to feel safer and more engaged in their communities.
“The City of Greater Dandenong and the City of Casey have come up with meaningful solutions to local issues, to help our whole community feel safer,” Dandenong MP Gabrielle Williams said.
“By lighting up our public spaces, we will go a long way to reducing crime and other anti-social behaviour in the community.”
