Soccer shines in Harmony

Harmony Square hosted a soccer celebration to kick off Australia’s World Cup campaign.

The Saturday 16 June event also encouraged visitors to support the Team 11 bid, to bring the A-League and W-League to Greater Dandenong.

The live broadcast of the Socceroos versus France World Cup game was on the big screen at night.

During the day, teens and adults all played the world game.

Eight teams representing the City of Greater Dandenong, Monash Health, Victoria Police, the CFA and Street Soccer competed in the Community Cup, and an exhibition match to launch a new health and fitness initiative encouraged men to play soccer.

Big Bros Sport is behind the Man versus Fat Football League, and keen Team 11 bid supporter Councillor Jim Memeti was among the players.
