Violent home invasion

Police are investigating an aggravated burglary which occurred in Springvale overnight.

Investigators have been told that three male offenders broke into the Loller Street home after forcing the front door open just after midnight.

Two occupants, who were woken from their sleep, attempted to barricade themselves in a bedroom but one of the burglars forced a metal pole through the door striking the male victim in the stomach.

The men demanded cash from the couple, fleeing the scene with one of the victim’s handbag.

A 47-year-old man received minor injuries in the incident.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
