Burglar stopped in his tracks

A man has been awoken by an intruder attempting to break into his Springvale house in the early daylight hours on Saturday, 20 October.

Upon hearing noises outside, the 29-year-old victim has spoken with the male intruder in the yard.

The unknown person then fled by jumping over the back fence.

Police later found damage to the back flyscreen door but no entry was gained.

Tools for the job were left behind by the would-be burglar.

The Heatherton Road premises were located between View and Springvale roads.
